Who: Large Leisure Vacation Tour Packager
Problem: Create a financial model and strategic recommendations that identify and illustrate growth opportunities for the company over a 5-year period. Items to be considered in the model were macroeconomic conditions, estimates of supply and demand for travel and lastly building in acquisition and consolidation in the leisure travel market.
Solution: Using the principals from McKinsey & Company’s Valuation: Measuring and Managing the Value of Companies, developed a customized Excel-based financial model that included over 25 input drivers and growth variables to forecast the companies position over a 5-year period.
Result: The output from the financial model was utilized in board meetings to identify strategic opportunities and risks. Additionally, a large multi-national consulting company used the model to assist other clients with similar needs.
